2.5.1 Updating your document in FrameMaker

Mif2Go works reliably only on FrameMaker documents that have been updated and are free from unresolved cross references:

• If your document contains cross references or other links, make sure they are all resolved in FrameMaker before you use Mif2Go.

• If you intend to convert generated files, make sure they are updated first in FrameMaker.

If your FrameMaker document was originally converted from Microsoft Word via FrameMaker native Word import (not recommended), the document might contain a very large number of Word-generated cross-reference markers. By default, Mif2Go ignores these markers. If you have actually used any of these markers in FrameMaker, see §5.1.10 Preserving Word-generated cross-reference markers.
